Heads turn as she strides confidently down the street. The light breeze ripples the lush fur and the sunlight turns the blue trim to shimmering sapphire.
Hand painted Mongolian lamb set the tone for this vest; the playful kinky texture is a whimsical cap to a lush body of sheared Blue Iris mink. Royal blue dyed fox accents the neckline and the sides. This little vest repurposed an interesting pile of odds and ends. The Blue Iris was the lower edge of a coat that was taken apart and sent to be sheared. It was then re-styled as a hip length jacket leaving a wide band of left over pieces. The blue insert added the width necessary to create the lower part of the vest. The lamb was an over-the-top collar removed from a 1980’s coat in it’s restyling. The mix of colors and textures works well together and is a bold, gutsy statement.
